Dreams and Visions

Many people have said that dreams occur at night and visions are during the day, however, several passages in the scriptures indicated visions that occurred at night when a person is in their beds asleep (Dan. 7:1; Acts 16:9-10; 18:9-11).

John Paul Jackson of Streams Ministries International, referred to vision as “lateral” and dreams as “symbolic,” actually; he calls dreams “God’s night parables” due to symbolism usually contained in the dreams.

Understanding dream symbolism or language helps the individual take hold of what God is trying to say through the dream. Though several variables affect and influence an individual’s dreams (Ecclesiastes. 5:3), God uses dreams immensely to communicate with his people. “And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream,” (Numbers 12:5-6).

God makes himself known to the prophet in visions and speaks to the prophet in dreams. We are living in a very strategic time in the history of creation of the universe where God is multiplying dreams and visions for our benefit in preaching and extending his kingdom in this planet EARTH.
